D&AD
Awards & Judging
D&AD (Design & Art Direction) is a global association representing the creative, design and advertising communities. The D&AD Awards are among the most prestigious in the world, and as a non-profit organisation, all of its surpluses go back into supporting worthwhile causes.
As PR Lead, I ran global communications strategy for the 2014 Awards season, including Judging Week, the Awards Ceremony, and the New Blood graduate Awards & Exhibition.
Judging Week was held over four days at the historic Kensington Olympia Exhibition Centre — featuring tens of thousands of entries across categories as diverse as Magazine & Newspaper Design, Music Videos, Film Advertising Crafts, and Product Design. Across 23 different juries, 680 works were selected to receive awards as I managed interviews, distributed results to trade media from 40+ countries, hosted international journalists, and secured national media coverage at home in the UK.
Later in the summer, New Blood took place in the Shoreditch creative quarter— D&AD’s annual showcase of the best new creative talent from around UK. For three days, 700 graduates from 85 creative courses at 50 top universities put their work on display in Old Spitalfields Market. Below are some of the images from one of the most fulfilling creative experiences I’ve been lucky enough to have.
